Maxine Lane travelled to Rutland Water in Leicestershire on Saturday morning to compete at The Dambuster Duathlon. The event, which is a qualifying race for this years ITU World Age Group Duathlon Championships and for The ETU European Championships 2015, saw over 700 of the countries finest duathletes battle it out for the top spots in their age categories.
Maxine let rip in the first 10K and soon saw herself overtaking the opposition in transition as she made her way out onto the hilly 42K bike route. With the first run and a tough ride in her legs, she kept up the pace as she stormed round the last 5k finishing in 2 hours 28 minutes 13 seconds. Maxine managed to finish 16th female overall and third in her age category firmly qualifying for the worlds and the European championships.
