Sunday morning not only saw the sunshine but also saw 10 club members taking on the popular Cambridge Half Marathon. With temperatures soaring to over 18 degrees all ten runners put in some fine performances over the 2 lap course around the city. Ross Birkett who is running the London Marathon next month proved he is in fine form as he flew around the course in a stunning 1 hour 19 minutes 28 seconds, new member Tracey Villano finished in 1 hour 27 minutes 17 seconds, despite suffering with a virus. She was chased down by Angela Girgis who recorded a personal best of 1 hour 37 minutes 19 seconds. Clare Fleming who is also in training for London finished in 1 hour 37 minutes 23 seconds with Joe Richer who is making a comeback from injury stopping the clock on 1 hour 45 minutes 09 seconds. Lee Dickinson who has only been back running for a couple of weeks after having a fall from his bike put on a strong performance to finish in 1 hour 45 minutes 26 seconds. Sarah Wells had a stunning run, managing to shave three minutes off her time from last year and crossing the line in 1 hour 51 minutes 28 seconds, hot on her heals was Michael Lowther in 1 hour 53 minutes 34 seconds. Francesa Rust had the run of her life to knock 21 minutes from her previous half marathon recording 2 hours 17 minutes 20 seconds with Sam Raithatha who has spent weeks on the bench with injury finishing in 2 hours 43 minutes 51 seconds.
